WAWS Development & Updates

Added

• Forecast Graphics - Added four day forecast graphics for locations across the WoolawayWx coverage area.

Updated

• Map Selection on Forecast Page - Added a map selection on the forecast page to make it easier to select forecasts.

Removed

• 12, 24 and 48 Hour Precipitation Maps - These were removed due to scripting issues where all three plots displayed identical results. They will be restored once the data pipeline is fixed.

Added

• Addition of Day 1 and 2 Hour Max Temperatures - These are intedned to show the max temperatures for the current day and the next.
• Added GIF functionality - This was added to all the plots that run on 15 miniute intervals, and should it work correct, will likely be increased in functionality and optimization in further updates of the website.
• Logo - Created an entire new logo from scratch just for WAWS. This will be updated across the graphics sometime in early December.

Updated

• Language - Changed some of the language on the temperature plots to better reflect what it is showing for day 1 and day 2 temperature forecast rather than 24 and 48 hour forecat. No change in how the data is plotted, and the language on the graphics will be updated after thanksgiving break, but as of the moment, this a web only change.
• Better UX - Made the info about WAWS a dropdown that is optional to view, also removed the header image and using the WAWS logo.

In the Works

• Winter Weather Products - Unknown what WAWS will feature in this area, but hoping to have it up in the next few weeks.
